The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (translated as "Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited", abbreviated as HSBC in English, abbreviated as HSBC in Chinese, meaning "abundant remittance").
Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of HSBC Holdings Limited, a founding member of the HSBC Group and its flagship in the Asia Pacific region. It is also the largest registered bank in Hong Kong and one of the three largest note issuing banks in Hong Kong (the other two are Bank of China (Hong Kong) and Standard Chartered Bank). Headquartered in the HSBC head office building, 1 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong, HSBC and its subsidiaries currently have more than 700 branches and offices in the Asia Pacific region.
